"Travellers can buy "electronic phone cards" with global access through a new Web site, http://www.card4anywhere.com.
These accounts can be used to call anywhere in the world from 35 countries. .... Each time an account is used, the caller is told how many minutes remain based on the rate of the call.
The cards, which are good for 90 days, are sold by a British company in denominations of £50 ($74.50, at 70 pence to the dollar), £20 ($29.80), £10 ($14.90) and £5 ($7.45). The company says a 30-minute call from Italy to the United States, including a 75-cent connection charge, would cost about $3; from Brazil about $7..."
